Nick Granville, is a name synonymous with guitar and musical excellence in the New Zealand music scene and abroad. With a career spanning over two decades, he has firmly established himself as a first call session musician and has released 5 albums as a band-leader/co-bandleader. His performances have taken him to stages across the globe, where he has had the honour of performing with: Mike Stern, Kurt Elling, Chris Cain, Francisco Torres, Bob Mintzer, Dick Oatts, Bennie Maupin, Joey DeFrancesco, Patti Austin, Dave Weckl, Steve Smith, Joe LaBarbera, Steve Houghton, Clay Jenkins, Dave Mathews, Terreon Gully, Alex Sipiagin, Allen Vizzutti, Alan Broadbent, Bruce Forman, The NZSO, Orchestra Wellington,The Rodger Fox Big Band, and on many TV and theatre shows. Nick has performed at some of the very best music venues around the world including Typhoon and the Lighthouse in Los Angeles, The Monterey Jazz Festival, The Birmingham Symphony Hall, the Liverpool Philharmonic and at Indigo at London’s O2. He has recorded in the best studios in the world including Capitol Records studio A and United recording in Los Angeles. 

In 2017 he recorded the album ReAMPED in Los Angeles at Kronos Studios with drum legend Gary Novak engineering. This album was a collaboration of original music with fellow kiwi’s Benjamin J. Shepherd (bass) and Dylan Elise (drums) and realised on Sky deck music. As a composer, Nick Granville has an extensive catalog of original music that showcases his unique voice and creativity, Including the albums ‘Refractions’ (feat. Aucklanders Roger Manins, Ron Samson and Olivier Holland) and ‘HOME’ (feat. Colin Hemmingsen, Alex Nyman & Donald Armstrong et. al). His dedication to pushing the boundaries of jazz and exploring new musical horizons has garnered him a dedicated following of music enthusiasts and peers alike.
